Alexander Maier

Alexander was born and raised in Chelyabinsk, rural mountain district of Russia, where he received his training at the Chelyabinsk Music College and State Institute of Culture, graduated as a music pedagogue and orchestral soloist, specializing in oboe. Alexander has performed in many orchestras and ensembles as a soloist in Russia and since 1993 in Canada. Currently he is an active chamber and orchestral musician and teaches woodwind instruments at the Chilliwack Academy of Music as well as Western Conservatory of Music in Langley. Alexander has taught at ACMS for over 13 years.
